Winter Solstice Chant for Peace

By December 19, 2010No Comments

Hello All 🙂

I have been a blogger slacker again this month, BUT!  Just in time for Tuesday, which is not only the Winter Solstice, but a full lunar eclipse, I wanted to let you know about the Chants for Peace.  For non-St. Louis folks, check in your own city as well– this is a nationwide event.

I probably won’t make it back here before next weekend, so whatever you may celebrate this year–Happy Merry Everything.  May we all have what we need, see the Light in ourselves and each other, find warmth in the glow of family and friends, and see joy in the faces of children.  So many of us dwell in abundance and plenty–May we also remember those for whom this is a sad, lonely or frightening time and send them Light as well.  Peace and blessing to you all and best wishes in the New Year.

The rest is a fwd from Margaret Waddell– if you get a chance to attend this, her chanting is gloriously beautiful.

The annual Winter Solstice Chant for Peace in St. Louis, MO will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21th at Cheryl’s Herbs, located at 7170-A Manchester, Rd., Maplewood, MO.

Look for my Facebook event and pass it on:   http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=119830771416694

Our “official” hour of chanting is from 6-7 pm. Please arrive by 5:45pm if you can so we can all be settled and ready to start on time. Bring a cushion and/or folded blanket to sit on.

This segment of chanting is part of a 24-hour worldwide chant for Peace, organized by House of Mica Peace Chamber in New York. Please try to arrive no later than 5:45, so that we can be ready to take the baton from the group that is chanting before us. There are three groups chanting simultaneously during this very last hour of the 24-hour event.

Feel free to bring friends and forward this message to anyone you think might be interested in joining us.

No experience necessary. All chants will be taught and led by Margaret Waddell. Handouts will be available.

Donations will be accepted to help cover rent and other costs and defray expenses.   Suggested donation: $7-$13.

The differences are just illusion and vanity.”
